Lenovo’s PC gaming handheld got stupid expensive

Written by:

With a starting price of $599.99, the Lenovo Legion Go S was seen as a relative bargain in the PC gaming handheld space. Now, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Lenovo announced price increases for the various Legion Go S models. That $599.99 model I mentioned at the top with the Ryzen Z2 Go processor now costs nearly $1,000. Not to be outdone, the Steam OS version with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor now costs an eye-watering $1,579.99 at Best Buy.

You can still pick up the Windows version at a “discounted” price of a little over $1,000. Regardless, these price increases are almost incredulous.

Lenovo did not comment on the price increases. However, it’s likely that the current RAM and storage shortages are at least somewhat at fault.

I would say to just get a Steam Deck, but that’s been in and out of stock for months now for the same reasons.
