It looks like PlayStation will ask players to verify their ages for certain features later this year.
That is according to Insider Gaming, which reported PlayStation will implement an age verification system for certain online features. These include messages and voice chat.
Players have the option to opt out of age verification, with services like games, trophies, and the store unaffected. However, they will be unable to send messages to other players or start a voice chat with others.
In the email announcing age verification, PlayStation did not say when the system will be implemented.
PlayStation will become the latest gaming-focused brand to implement an age verification system. Platforms like Discord and Roblox have introduced similar measures.
