The MacBook Neo counted on its low price point to make a mark, and it looks as if it has accomplished that in spades.
As noted by 9to5Mac, all colors and storage configurations of the MacBook Neo are sold out for the month of April if you order directly from Apple. Orders submitted today should arrive between May 1 and May 8 at the earliest.
There might be in-store availability every now and then, but don’t expect it.
Those looking toward Best Buy and Target are better off, but will still need to wait. Orders placed today through either retailer should arrive in a week at the earliest.
This points to demand for the MacBook Neo potentially outstripping supply. Apple originally estimated it would ship five to six million units in 2026, but that has now changed to 10 million.
Apple might need to release the MacBook Neo sooner than expected due to this immense demand. The company used binned A18 Pro chips to power the MacBook Neo, but the high demand has led to unstable chip supply.
If this continues, Apple would need to either restart production of the A18 Pro or move on and use the A19 Pro instead.
