Already making a splash with its Robot Phone, phone maker Honor is making another splash by unveiling what could end up being the best foldable phone out there.
Arriving in China later this month and internationally later this year, the Honor Magic V6 brings IP68 and IP69 certification in tow. In addition to dust protection, these ratings allow the phone to be immersed in water and exposed to high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
Then there’s the physical footprint. The Magic V6 measures 4mm thick when open and 8.75mm when folded closed. This is thinner than even Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, though not by a huge margin – 0.15mm, to be exact.
It’s enough for Honor to claim the Magic V6 is the thinnest large-format foldable out there. How long it can hold onto that crown for is anyone’s guess, however.
Even with such a thin profile, the Magic V6 boasts a huge 6,660mAh battery. This is a good deal larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh battery and should last you multiple days.
As expected, the Magic V6 also comes with other high-end bells and whistles. It has Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. It even comes with some Apple-centric features, including Find My tracking, syncing notifications to an iPhone, and sharing files with iPhones and MacBooks.
Honor did not say how much the Magic V6 will cost, though it’s easy to imagine something around $2,000. Unfortunately, the phone will not make it to U.S. shores.
