At the end of yesterday’s Pokémon Presents broadcast, The Pokémon Company announced the next mainline entry in the Pokémon series.
Titled Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, the games take place in a new region with islands and mountainous areas. The trailer also introduced the games’ three starters: the Grass-type Browt, Fire-type Pombon, and the Water-type Gecqua.
According to The Pokémon Company, the games will feature separate biomes with their own ecosystems. There is also a chance players can explore underwater areas, a feature not seen in a Pokémon game since Ruby and Sapphire.
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will be released sometime in 2027 as a Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive.
