Written by:

For the fourth time in four years, NBC’s Peacock streaming service is getting pricier.

All three of the service’s subscription tiers are affected by the price hikes. Starting with Peacock Select, that goes from $7.99 to $8.99. Peacock Premium goes from $10.99 to $12.99, while Peacock Plus goes from $16.99 to $19.99.

The three tiers’ annual prices also saw increases.

The price hikes take effect today for new and returning subscribers. Meanwhile, existing subscribers will see the changes on or after September 17, depending on when their respective billing dates are.

According to NBC, the price increases “allow Peacock to continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the marketplace, and deliver unique content across all genres.”

The prices increases come as NBC reported Peacock making a profit for the first time since it launched. As noted by Ars Technica, the streaming service posted a quarterly profit of $189 million as it saw increases in the number of subscribers, subscription revenue, and advertising revenue.

They also come as other streaming services have issued their own price increases. Just this year, Netflix, YouTube Premium, Spotify, Paramount Plus, Crunchyroll, Amazon Music, and Amazon Prime Video saw price increases.
