Report: iPhone Ultra arriving later this year

We’re officially in the summertime, which means a fresh round of rumors regarding the next iPhone.

This time around, the rumors come from a report from The Elec. It claims that Apple not only finalized the key specifications for the rumored iPhone Ultra, but was able to solve alleged issues with the hinge. As a result, Apple is reportedly set to start mass production in July.

The issues supposedly stemmed from slight noises observed during durability testing. With those issues now in the past, the iPhone Ultra is allegedly on track for a September launch.

Rumors point to the iPhone Ultra being Apple’s first foldable smartphone. Instead of a flip-style foldable in the vein of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip line, it will reportedly be a larger book-style foldable.

Don’t expect it to be cheap. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, for example, sells for $1,999. Similar book-style foldables from Google and Motorola have price tags that hover around $1,800 to $2,000, though discounts have brought those prices back down to Earth.
