Samsung has been hit with a $15-million lawsuit, but it’s not from another tech company. Instead, it’s from singer Dua Lipa.
The lawsuit claims Samsung used a copyrighted image of Lipa without her permission. Lipa owns the copyright on the image, which shows her backstage at Austin City Limits in 2024.
Samsung allegedly used the image on the boxes for various television models. These were sold in stores across the U.S.
According to the lawsuit, Lipa became aware of the issue in June 2025 when she saw comments referring to a “Dua Lipa TV Box.”
Lipa then reportedly sent a cease and desist letter, with Samsung’s response described as “dismissive and callous.” Lipa then sent “repeated demands” to remove her image from the company’s TV packaging.
”Samsung’s arrogance in refusing to stop its infringement confirms its conscious disregard of Ms. Lipa’s intellectual property and personal identity rights,” reads the lawsuit.
Samsung has not yet publicly commented on the lawsuit.
