The latest monthly sales report from analytics firm Circana is out, and it looks like the Switch 2 has only continued its dominance.
According to the report, gaming hardware sales in the U.S. in March 2026 increased by 69 percent relative to March 2025. That is in large part to the Switch 2, which continues to be the best-selling console in the U.S. for the first three months of 2026.
The PlayStation 5 is holding its own, with sales increasing by 3 percent when comparing March 2026 to March 2025. Sony’s gaming console is second in terms of sales throughout 2026 so far.
Unfortunately for Xbox fans, there is no data on how the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X have fared so far.
In all, consumers have spent a little over $1 billion on gaming hardware in 2026. That is significantly more than the $777 million in gaming hardware sales recorded during the same time frame in 2025.
