Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t quite done with the updates, as those with a PlayStation 5 Pro will get some nice upgrades for the game.
Detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the PS5 Pro update will be available tomorrow, April 8. The major additions are the three PS5 Pro-specific visual modes.
The first is Ray Tracing Pro, which turns on every ray tracing enhancement available. It targets 40 frames per second on variable refresh rate-enabled displays and 30 frames per second “otherwise.”
Next up is Ray Tracing, which features “select” ray tracing enhancement. It runs at 60 frames per second and is positioned as the “Goldilocks” option.
Last up is Performance, which focuses on the highest frame rate possible. On displays with variable refresh rates, the mode reaches up to 90 frames per second.
All of the modes should put the PS5 Pro to good use, assuming you have a compatible display or TV. The performance improvements will still be evident on a regular TV or display, but probably won’t be as noticeable.
