We’re still many months away from Halloween, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a good scare on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Case in point, developer Frictional Games announced Amnesia: Rebirth will be released on the Switch 2 on April 30. The developer promises this version of the game will be a “complete and optimized version, ensuring peak performance on the system.”
If you’re not a fan of scares but still enjoy the atmosphere, there will be an Adventure Mode that strips away the horror elements. This essentially turns the game into an atmospheric walking simulator.
Originally released in October 2020, Amnesia: Rebirth is a survival horror game that features environmental puzzles. You play as Tasi, who wanders desert caves and tombs in order to find her companions.
As with other Amnesia games, the story in Amnesia: Rebirth slowly comes together through notes left behind by others. Players eventually learn the story takes quite a twist as they near the end, but no spoilers here!
The game performed well with critics, with the PC version earning a Metacritic score of 80. On OpenCritic, around 70 percent of critics recommended the game.
