It has been less than a week since Apple released the iPhone Duo, but a number of owners have already reported cracked screens.
Based on images of the affected units, they all seem to have broken in the same manner. In this case, there is a crack right down the middle, with a horizontal line of pixels stuck glowing white.
The good news is that affected customers seem to have been able to exchange their units at Apple Stores. However, those who purchased the iPhone Duo might have less luck, since carriers do not have immediate stock.
It bears mentioning that this does not seem to be a widespread issue, though only time will tell for sure. This could simply be a bad batch of phones, magnified further by the fervor around the iPhone Duo launch.
As for why this issue is cropping up, it could be due to a misaligned part of the hinge poking through the inner display. Regardless, if you experience this issue, your first stop should probably be at your nearest Apple Store.
