What you might see at Apple’s Pro and Tell event

Apple isn’t quite done announcing new products this year. With the company’s Welcome Home event now firmly in the rearview mirror, the next Pro and Tell event is now in focus.

Here is everything you might see announced this coming week.

MacBook Pro with OLED

In a first for any MacBook, a MacBook Pro with an OLED display could finally make its debut next week. It has been rumored for years, but all signs point to the rumors becoming reality.

On top of that, this new MacBook Pro could also be Apple’s first touchscreen laptop. The software interface could see a few changes to accommodate the new hardware, such as an iPhone-like Dynamic Island, a magnification effect when you touch the display, and new gesture controls for native apps.

Don’t expect a change to the processor, however – this MacBook Pro looks like it will stick with the M5 series of processors. That is hardly a bad thing, however, with all of the M5 processors praised for their raw grunt and power efficiency.

M6 for the MacBook Pro and iMac

That doesn’t mean we won’t see the M6 processor, however. Apple will reportedly update the base MacBook Pro and iMac with the M6. However, both machines could also come with higher price tags due to component shortages.

iPad Mini with OLED

Finally, Apple will reportedly announce an updated iPad Mini with an OLED display. Up until now, every iPad Mini model has had an LCD display.

If true, this would be the first iPad other than the iPad Pro to feature an OLED display. Don’t expect it to come cheap, however – the iPad Mini will reportedly get a $100 price bump due to the more expensive panel. That means it could start at $699 instead of the current $599.
