Roughly a month after Mouse: P.I. For Hire released to the masses, publisher PlaySide confirmed it already made its money back.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, PlaySide confirmed with its investors that it recouped publishing and marketing costs involving the hit game. The publisher also confirmed Mouse: P.I. For Hire is performing better than expected, leading to a brighter financial forecast.
“The upgrade primarily reflects stronger-than-expected unit sales and ongoing wishlist conversion of Mouse: P.I. For Hire across PC and console platforms, and has been achieved despite the delayed launch of the title and the absence of major external project wins during the year to date,” said the publisher.
The game has performed extremely well since its release in April. On OpenCritic, 88 percent of critics recommended it, with most reviews hovering around an 8 out of 10.
