As part of the upcoming Summer Game Fest celebrations, Xbox announced it will host its annual Xbox Games Showcase in June.
The showcase promises “first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles” from Xbox Game Studios and third-party developers. It will be followed up by a dedicated livestream for the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day, which is set for release later this year.
Some games that could appear during the Xbox Games Showcase include Fable, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and Halo: Campaign Evolved. We could also see glimpses of the next Call of Duty game and an update from Blizzard.
As excited as fans are for The Elder Scrolls 6 and the next Fallout game, don’t count on them making an appearance. Bethesda has mostly kept a tight lid on both projects, probably in an attempt to keep expectations in check.
Regardless, this is an important showcase for Xbox.
It will be the first one under new Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma and new Xbox chief content office Matt Booty. The Xbox brand is flailing, and Sharma is a relative unknown to Xbox fans.
As a result, this showcase has more riding on it than it normally would.
The Xbox Games Showcase will stream on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook on June 7 at 10:00am Pacific.
