If a recent report is anything to go by, we could see an Xbox Game Pass and Netflix bundle in the future.
That is according to The Information, which reported Xbox CEO Asha Sharma and Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters have “kicked around ideas” of a potential bundle. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Peters said he “wouldn’t eliminate any possibilities.”
It would be a far cry from where things stood many moons ago.
Historically, Netflix has viewed video games as competition for your eyeballs. It could be the reason why the streaming service expanded into gaming and offers premium mobile games at no additional cost for subscribers.
As for Xbox, this could be a move to help Sharma out the gates strong.
She took over as Xbox CEO several weeks ago after Phil Spencer announced his retirement. In early comments, Sharma said she wants to make Xbox a relevant brand again. Having a bundle with Netflix could be a small step in that direction.
