If pre-orders are anything to go off of, it seems folks are very interested in trying out the Galaxy S26.

According to Samsung, pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 phones increased by 25 percent when compared to the number of pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 phones. Around 80 percent of those pre-orders are for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

U.S. carriers also see increased interest, reporting a 70 percent increase in pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 compared to the Galaxy S25. Retailers like Best Buy reported double the number of pre-orders.

Widening the view, Samsung also said worldwide pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 surpassed any of the company’s previous flagships. The Ultra seems to capture the most attention, making up around 70 percent of worldwide pre-orders.

It’s not a huge surprise. Samsung is by far the largest Android smartphone maker in the world, so it dominates the mindshare.

As for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, its headline feature is what Samsung calls Privacy Display. By turning off a subset of pixels, the phone makes it so people next to you cannot see what is being displayed.

Of course, these are just pre-order numbers. We will have to wait and see whether they translate to more sales for Samsung.
