According to a Bloomberg report published earlier today, Apple has postponed the release of its first smart home display. As a result, it will reportedly debut later in 2026.
The issue isn’t the hardware – it’s been reportedly finalized for months – but the software. The report claims the delay is due to Apple’s AI-centric overhaul of its Siri still not done.
The smart home display was reportedly set to release this spring, potentially as soon as this month.
In hindsight, waiting until the fall might be a better idea. From the iPhone 17e and new iPad Air models to new MacBook Pro and Studio Display models, Apple announced quite a bit already in March. A smart home display can easily get lost in the shuffle, even if it would be Apple’s first crack at it.
