During its latest earnings briefing, Nintendo said it is open to buying up other companies.
The company said its goal is to shore up its game development pipeline. This could include snapping up game developers and making them subsidiaries.
Nintendo has historically not been one to buy up many companies. Some examples include Shiver, Dynamo Pictures, SRD, and Next Level Games.
Nintendo also said it will spend more money on “opportunities that have an affinity with our game business,” including movies. Some already in the pipeline include The Super Mario Galaxy Movie in 2026 and the live-action Zelda movie in 2027.
