To abide by new repair laws in Europe, Nintendo released a revised version of the Switch 2 in the continent that makes it much easier to replace the battery.
Normally, the Switch 2’s battery is a bit of a pain to remove. It’s easy enough to disconnect from the motherboard, but Nintendo uses an adhesive that makes the battery a pain to separate from the main unit.
Not so with the European revision. As YouTube creator Austin Evans showed in the video above, the battery simply pops in and out of place. This is a significantly less painful process, making battery swaps a trivial matter.
Alas, the fates are cruel – those who live outside of Europe will not get the revised Switch 2. It’s not all sunflower and roses, however, as Nintendo ended sales of the original Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite in Europe due to the new repair regulations.
